I feel paintings should present a mood and impression. Form and color are used to create feelings, more that a realistic picture. I hope that when viewing any of my work the colors jump out at you and stir up moods and memories. Colors should sing, and hopefully the song will linger.
I work mainly with watercolors, because they are always a challenge and a surprise. The nature of watercolors are that they can not always be controlled. I work with watercolors, let them hum a tune, and I play along. My goal is to always learn something new with each painting, and in the process share something new to each viewer. |
